History of the Farm
Beaverdam Organic Farms was started in 1976 by Carol Corcoran (Ketcham), a Westhampton native descended from two generations of East End farmers. The farm lies on old cow pasture on Old Country Road in Westhampton, NY, adjacent to the property of Carol's grandfather, John Ketcham, who began farming the area in the early 1900s. For the nearly 4 decades, Carol has organically cultivated the fields with care, adding manure for fertility and rotating crops to control pests.
